Hey DipPoetry Lounge! It's Edwin here again, and I'm bringing you guys the main attraction of Saturdays that is: Poet 2 Poet. A closer look into the minds of two poets through questions that they have had the opportunity to ask each other.  This Saturday features:

Joshua Bennett to Andrea Gibson:

1. How do you feel about Antarctica?

I feel cold about it.   But I love penguins.   Do you know penguins bring each other pebbles as gifts?    I would like to be given some pebbles as gifts.

2. Which member of the X-Men would you most like to have as a college roommate and why?

STORM.  To hurricane all the boys out of my bed.

3. Carlton Banks or Steve Urkel?

Carlton Banks/hottest bod ever.

4. Are your words wings?

Only my pick-up lines.

5. Things you want to say to Lauryn Hill.

1)Fierce grace.

2)Indestructible amazing.

3) You annihilate my quit.

4) How do you universe?

5) Some people are walking hymns.

6. How did your heart arrive at its present condition?

Dust storm.  Fireworks.  Mask.  Penny candy.  Dog tags. Regret. Umbrella lightening.   Broken clock.  Wheelchair.  Needle. Screen door.  Porch swing. Punch.  Trellis. Firefly. Forgive.  Un-forgive. Forgive.

7. What is your purpose?

The word purpose looks like it should be the name of a small animal with fur and fins and teeth shaped like hearts.  Not the kind of hearts you get in valentines, but the kind of hearts you get in your chest when you're born.  I would like to leave some heart-shaped bite marks.

8. First thought that runs through your mind after performing in a prison.

Snow falling on barbwire.

9. Rocky Road Ice Cream?

I like cows as much as people and sugar gives me the panics.   But rocky roads, yes.

10. What do you know for sure about love?

It's worth the ruin.

11. One line that represents your body of work.

A doctor once told me i feel so much.  I said "So does God. That's why you can see the Grand Canyon from the moon."

12. Gryffindor or Ravenclaw?

Wikipedia.

13. Describe the first time you felt silly for crying.

In the 2nd grade, when Mrs. Ryans told me to stand in the corner because I made my construction paper sky the wrong color.  (green)  I cried so hard she let me go back to my desk.   I was still crying 4 hours later. Clinton Hayward called me a "whimpy pants." Clinton Hayward can suck it.

14. Last dream you didn't dare to chase.

I very much regret not following my dream of becoming a professional skateboarder.  But the most recent dream not chased:  A 30 day silent meditation retreat i opted out of.   I would like to be wise enough to occasionally keep my mouth shut.

15. Where is Carmen San Diego?

Years ago I drove straight from Denver to San Diego and when I got there i was so exhausted i went to eat at this little restaurant with an outdoor patio in the middle of the business district and this enormous cop that looked like a bulldozer of "kick your ass" was walking by and I said him, "Hey, where do all the queers hang out?" And he said, "Oh girl, right up that gorgeous hill there is a fabulous community......"  Anyway.  I know a woman named Carmen. She sent me a letter recently saying she was afraid she had been a terrible mother.

16. Least favorite characteristic of the sea.

It talks too loud and too fast.  Like a slam poet.

17. What is the bravest thing you have ever done? The most cowardly?

I left my family.  I left my family.

18. David Bowie or David Hasselhoff?

Bowie.

19. Does she indeed smell like butterfly?

Cocoon.

20. What would you say to the moon if you two ever met?

I could have done without the gravity.

21. Your favorite euphemism.

Let me see your tootsie roll.

1. Is your lonely quiet or loud?

My lonely is pretty loud.

2. How did you get your staircase spine?

I had work done back in '96. Not something I'm ashamed of.

3. What are the clouds shaped like?

Today? Proud bulldogs and shaky fists.

4. What are your bruises shaped like?

Tiny archipelagos.

5. Do you collect sea shells from the beach? Does it feel like stealing?

I do not. Prefer collecting durable things, like stamps. And people's secrets.

6. If you made music boxes for a living what song would they play?

"Kiss" by Prince. That track makes you want to dance carefree and shoeless in the street. Surprisingly enough, that's a pretty rare sentiment for me.

7. Whisper or Holler?

Whisper, but only if the timing's right.

8. Tire Swing or Roller Coaster?

Tire Swing all day. Allows you to push yourself.

9. If you got stung by a bee where on your body would you most like to be stung?

Shoulder blade. Depending on the size, it might look like tiny wings were growing.

10. What song lyric would you most like the skipping record to get stuck on?

I would die for you, darling. If you want me to.

11. Who did you forgive?

Her. Twice.

12. What is the best piece of garbage to make a bird house with?

Stained glass. Not sure if anybody ever throws that away, though. Oh well. I'm sticking with it.

13. Do you know any magic tricks?

Only love.

14. Do you ask for lollypops when you go through the drive-through window at the bank?

Don't own a car. I do however ask for lollipops during class quite often.

15. What do you bring to a drive-in movie?

Cheese Doodles and a boombox to switch the movie soundtrack up in case I don't like it.

16. Hardest regret?

Not exchanging numbers with that woman in Starbucks. She was fly, ya'll.

17. Saddest revenge?

Don't do revenge, really. God told me that He has it taken care of.

18. Where is home?

The hammock of her arms.

19. Describe your last tantrum.

Something about me failing. Could barely see through the tears. My body felt like it was on auto-pilot.

20. How do you melt?

Quickly.
